The Confederation of African Football CAF, together with the Local Organizing Committees of the three host nations Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda, has released the match schedule for the African Nations Championship CHAN 2024.

The tournament, having been moved from its original dates back in 2024 and then again moved in February this year, will kick-off on Saturday, 02 August 2025 in Dar es Salaam with a fixture between co-host Tanzania and Burkina Faso at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium at 8 PM Kenyan time.

Tanzania are in group B of the competition where they take on Madagascar, Mauritania, Burkina Faso and the Central African Republic.

On Sunday, 03 August, Nairobi will host two matches. Kenya's Harambee Stars will play their opening fixture at 3 PM Kenyan time, against the Democratic Republic of Congo at the Moi International Sport Centre in Kasarani.

Later at 6 PM Kenyan time, Morocco take on Angola at the Nyayo National Stadium.

Kenya is in group A which will be a tough nut to crack. They take on Morocco, Angola, DR Congo and Zambia in their group phase fixtures.

At 8 PM same day, action will return to the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium, where Madagascar will play Mauritania in a bumper Sunday of action.

The opening matches in Kampala will be played on Monday, 04 August 2025 when co-hosts Uganda play Algeria at 8 PM Kenyan time, while before that Niger will play Guinea at 5 PM Kenyan time at the same venue.

Uganda are in group C of the competition where they will take on Niger, South Africa, Guinea and Algeria.

Group D, originally to be hosted in Kenya will take place at the Amaan Stadium in Zanzibar. Senegal, Congo Brazzaville, Sudan and Nigeria make up the four team group. Kenya was stripped of the hosting rights to group D by CAF following delayed stadium renovation works on their facilities which as we speak are yet to be declared 100% ready.

The Third-Fourth Place Play-Off will be played in Kampala on Friday, 29 August 2025 at Mandela Stadium. The kick-off is scheduled for 6 PM Kenyan time.

Nairobi’s Moi International Sport Centre in the suburb of Kasarani will host the Final the following day, Saturday 30 August 2025 at 6 PM Kenyan time.
